Mike and Gill Barron have sailed the North Biscay coast for many years and have completely revised the structure and presentation of the pilotage information for this edition. Additional detailed visits by land in 2003 were followed by re-sailing the coast to ensure the information given here is as accurate as practicable to October 2004. To the traditional information have been added waypoints to WGS84. They are offered as an aid to navigation only.

The origin of this pilotage book goes back many years. The first to cover the
waters was Sailing tours - Falmouth to the Loire by Frank Cowper at the end of
the nineteenth century and this present book is the seventh in line from Adlard Coles 1959
Biscay Harbours and Anchorages, the copyright of which was donated to the
