CHAIRMAN - DAVID RIDOUT

David started sailing dinghies in his pre teens.  While  a long haul British Airways pilot he, his wife Annette and their two sons cruised the waters of Northern Europe for thirty years in a variety of yachts.  On retirement he and Annette completed a nine year, 54,000nm circumnavigation in their Swan 47 Nordlys.  In the 80s and early 90s David was on the PF committee and was also a trustee for some years.  He says he sees his mission as 'to successfully steer the Pilotage Foundation into the presently uncharted waters of  making the yachtsman's job easier by use of  books/epilot/website and not just by book production as in the past.  Exciting times are in front of us as navigation methods and information dissemination techniques change at a great rate'.
